If you want to laugh at preposterous jokes with no substance at all, you might find Grown-ups and its sequel interesting. In simple words, the film is nothing but a portrayal of some childhood friends’ trivial lifestyles and sheer stupidity. The Denis Dugan film is a nonsensical comedy film with no solid storyline at all. The primary motto or goal of the film is to incorporate fat and frivolous jokes every three minutes. And this illogical vulgarity goes on for almost two hours in both parts.

What the Grown Ups Movie About?

In both parts, namely Grown-Ups and Grown-Ups 2, the plot is about the silly lifestyle of stupid middle-aged fathers who are ogling at women most of the time. The films feature Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello, and Steve Buscemi.

The high school basketball team members gather 20 years later at a lake house at their beloved basketball coach’s funeral. The boys are now husbands and dads, and they recall their juvenile days. The sequel of Grown-Ups, namely the Grown-Ups 2, shows the story of the same school friends moving to their hometowns. They try to make their children live life as they did. This is for two reasons: the fathers now want to spend some more ‘Men-time’ and they want to escape their tiring schedule and responsibilities of a family man.

The Sandler and Fred Wolf story explores the dull-witted life of middle-aged dads. Jumping off the cliff naked or falling while swinging a rope are some of the instances in the movies.

Is Grown Ups Worth Watching?

Honestly speaking, the film has nothing to do with film critics and movie buffs. There is nothing in both films except weird jokes, awkward behavior, breastfeeding a four-year-old, peeing in the pool (making the water blue), and some other nonsense stuff. It is recommended not to watch the movie with children because of the portrayal of adult or sexual content. Labeling it as a comedy film is quite inappropriate because of the lack of wit. But well, if you want to laugh at glib and shallow jokes, you could give it a go!
