The Netflix documentary ‘Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell’ celebrates the life of Biggie. One of the Mount Rushmore rappers that helped reshape HipHop. The documentary brought his mother, P. Diddy, D’rock, and a bunch of his childhood friends to talk about who he was as a musician and a person. The new inclusion to Rap music documentaries tells the journey of a hustler to Rap King, Rapper Notorious B.I.G.

The film explores Christopher Wallace at a young age. It moves gradually to when he became the notorious B.I.G. that is precisely the point where the audience may understand the significant effect of his past on his future decisions. The documentary also shows his ear for jazz, reggae, and country music.

The best part of the movie is the relationship with his mother. His mother wasn’t a big fan of his singing because she did not like profanity, and of course, the things he did at a young age also shaped the relationship. But the most beautiful part is the raw emotions that came out from Biggie’s mother while speaking of her son’s success.

Is Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell worth watching?

The documentary is no doubt a striking one. People who have a soft corner for HipHop or jazz or any culture, in general, will find much to appreciate. Director Emmett Malloy’s creative usage of cinematography has blown thousands of minds already.

In fact, the unseen and genuine videos that his friends shot have also been presented creatively for the audience. Even the run time of one hour and thirty-seven minutes is not a big deal. But well, the information that has been served is not something all new. So people might feel it to be a little stale after the mid-way.

The string usage of raw slang has made it inappropriate for children to watch. But in an overall understanding, this documentary provides a different perspective of the Rapper Notorious B.I.G and his life.
